Plan Your Visit
The Surratt House Museum provides a place for visitors to reckon with the historical legacy of enslavement and the enduring struggle for racial justice. Going beyond the site’s connection to the assassination of President Lincoln, the Surratt House uses history to acknowledge our past and promote a more just future.
Hours:
- Visitor Center and Historic House: Open 11am-4pm, Thursday through Sunday
- Research Center: Open by appointment only
- The facility is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
Admission:
- General Admission: $5
Tours:
- Guided tours of the historic house depart every half hour between 11 am and 4 pm on Thursday to Sunday, with the last tour at 4 pm. For group reservations, please call or email.
- We at the Surratt House Museum respectfully ask that groups of eight or more people make reservations using this form below. Once finished, please email it to surratthouse@pgparks.com. You may expect a response within 48 hours. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Gift shop:
- Open Thursday to Sunday from 11 am-4 pm
Guidelines:
- Photography permitted, with no flash. Filming not permitted without a written request; please email the museum to apply.
- Food and drink not allowed in the historic house. Please enjoy all refreshments at our picnic tables.
- All children must have adult supervision while at the museum.
Accessibility
- English and Spanish tours available upon request.
- The first floor of the historic house is completely wheelchair accessible, with exception of one room.
