The Arts Center’s one-year artist residency is a juried competition, allowing artists to join the resident artist community and conclude their residency with an exhibition. <span class="tribe-address"> </span>

The Light We Carry is a portrait series celebrating those who shine authentically. Through vibrant color, layered patterns, and textured surfaces, these works invite viewers to witness presence, resilience, and the joy of living as one’s true self. This exhibition offers a moment to slow down – to sit with each figure and feel the depth of their presence, as each portrait holds a radiance beyond the individual, suggesting a shared energy connecting us across experience and time.

The title reflects a commitment to carry that light forward – to honor it, recognize it in others, and allow it to grow. Individual brightness becomes collective: a source of connection, belonging, and possibility – an enduring light we hold and pass on.
