This first-ever survey of female visual artists in the greater Washington, D.C., capital region is staged across multiple District, Maryland, and Virginia venues. Curated by artist and activist Florencio Lennox Campello, the exhibition celebrates the power of established women artists and identifies emerging new talents working in this culturally and ethnically diverse region.

Inspired by nature and classical Indian mythology, Sushama Parikh uses clay, terra cotta, ceramics, and batik to depict various members of the animal kingdom and the human form. She graduated from art school in Mumbai, did her postgraduate studies at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and has been a practicing artist for more than 50 years.
