SUMMARY:Michele Banks: Forces of Nature
DESCRIPTION:Forces of Nature presents recent works by Washington\, D.C.-based artist Michele Banks\, whose ink and watercolor paintings on yupo explore the invisible forces that shape our world—from microscopic atomic motion to the vast curvature of space. Drawing inspiration from physics and biology\, Banks merges scientific imagery with a fluid\, organic aesthetic\, balancing precision with spontaneity. Through the interplay of charts\, graphs\, and expressive washes of ink\, her work reflects on memory\, connection\, and what it means to exist within both natural and social systems. By bridging the rigor of science with the intuition of art\, Banks brings warmth and accessibility to complex\, abstract ideas.

DESCRIPTION:To Have & To Hold is a collaborative mixed media exhibition by husband-and-wife artists Jeff and Kristin Bohlander that explores intimacy\, material memory\, and the slow accumulation of lived experience. Rooted in shared time yet expressed through distinct practices\, the exhibition reflects a partnership shaped by parallel inquiry\, mutual influence\, and the quiet negotiations of life made side by side.

SUMMARY:Jeremy Wright
DESCRIPTION:Ceramicist and sculptor Jeremy Wright explores the concept of identity and the interplay between the actual and the perceived\, challenging viewers to look beyond what they immediately see to find a more subtle\, yet important\, subtext. Born in Canada of Cree descent\, Wright identifies as a trans-cultural artist. It is not unusual to see totem spirits such as bears\, eagles\, and bison in the imagery of his work.

Through paintings\, fiber art\, video\, sculpture\, ceramics\, beading\, jewelry\, and other media\, this exhibition explores the stories\, traditions\, and cultural practices that have been passed through generations. The featured works celebrate Native creativity\, challenge common misconceptions\, and offer contemporary and traditional perspectives on identity\, heritage\, and community.
