The Department of Parks and Recreation offers many opportunities to learn and play the game of basketball. Introduce your child to the game, play the game in one of our recreational leagues or attend a fun-filled Summer Day Camp.
Instruction
Classes are offered for children from ages 3 to 12 at some of our community center facilities. Certified instructors lead lessons to teach the skills necessary to learn the game. Here are the classes we have to offer:
Basketball Skills for ages 3 to 5. These classes are designed to introduce the elements of the game of basketball to your child. Students will learn to develop discipline, enjoy teamwork and improve coordination. These 30-45 minute classes have historically been held at these sites:

Basketball Skills (Children) for ages 6 to 12. These classes are designed to teach the skills of the game; dribbling, shooting and passing. Students will learn to develop discipline, enjoy teamwork, build a good work ethic and develop mental/physical toughness. Classes have historically been held at these sites:
